The Chuck Norris Experiment started as a goofy side project, but the Swedish quintet proved so popular that the bandmembers put their other bands on hold in favor of this tongue in cheek garage rock. And the Rest Will Follow, the group's first full-length, revs up the energy from the sludgier, stoner rock vibe of their 2005 EP, going for a cross between Turbonegro and late-era Ramones in its metal-spiked punk feel. Singer Chuck Ransom has a great growly voice, avoiding both the post-hardcore grunt and the equally affected high-register squealing that many singers would choose for these three-minute bursts of sonic aggression. The proudly sloppy three-chord tunes and cartoony lyrics exemplified by songtitles like "Bullshit City" and "Meteor Mama" add to the general lack of pretension. (Note: "Rock N Roll Suicide" is an original, not a cover of the David Bowie song.) Pretty much impossible to take too seriously, And the Rest Will Follow is a minor piece of garage rock sleaze, but a fun one.
